the Forgiveness of a child

...thinking this morning about a quote from Taylor this week: "the scar on my leg has healed but the scar on my heart has not." Remember to think about your words when you are speaking to others - no matter their age. Everyone has feelings and we do not want to be the cause of making anyone feel pushed down, especially teenagers. Luke 6:45" What you say flows from what is in your heart."

Proverbs 15:13 NLT "A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit."

Ephesians 4:29 "When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need- works that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you."

A few weeks ago Taylor was hurt by someone special to her. It has been very sad for me to see her upset about the situation. She has worked through the situation personally, almost :) She has prayed, read her Bible, shared with me about her feelings, and grown deeper in her spiritual walk. Taylor has taught me a great deal about forgiveness from this situation. How many times do we hold on to things that people have done to us or said to us and not able to forgive and move on. I have done it several times in my life. when people say things that hurt me, I think well I will just stay away from you and that way you can't say things about me (to my face!!) . Taylor has made me think about the true way (God's way) to forgive others and how to get over a painful situation. Taylor has said many things and done many things during this experience that I need to copy in my life.

I do not like that this happened to her. I do not like that more than anything else it crushed her sweet spirit. But I am thankful that she knows where to go when she is hurt and crushed and that she knows God and knows He understands and wants to help her. Thanks Taylor for reminding me about true forgiveness. I love you!!
