Piano Recital

Saturday the girls had their piano recital. This is our second year of piano lessons with Mrs. Jennifer. Mrs. Jennifer is so sweet to the girls and have really taught the girls a lot in piano. Mrs. Jennifer makes piano lessons fun for the girls and they look forward to lessons each week. Thank you Mrs. Jennifer for all your hard work and dedication in teaching the girls piano. You and your family are special to us.

Memorial Day Weekend Camping

We went camping in Townsend, TN for Memorial Day weekend. We had a great time of tubing, swimming, eating, roasting marshmallows, and visiting with family. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Dance Pictures

The girls had dance pictures last week at the studio. I took these pictures of Taylor and Aubrey while we were waiting. Hope you enjoy! This is just some of their costumes for dance recital on Saturday, June 6th at 2:00 and 7:00 at South Doyle Middle School.

Fun Day

Friends were over one day and we spent the day sculpturing moon sand, painting, playing kickball, playing in the sprinklers and creek, etc... It was a fun day.

Dancing at the Bloomin BBQ

On May 20, 2009 Taylor and Aubrey danced with their dance company in Sevierville, TN at the Bloomin BBQ and Bluegrass. They danced at two different times on this day. The second time they danced, I did not get good pictures. So, most of the pictures are from the first time they danced. Jody enjoyed his time with Ashley. Girls, you did a great job!!

Andy's High School Graduation

On Friday, May 15, 2009 my cousin Andy graduated from South Doyle High School. Andy will be attending Maryville College in the fall. Andy you are very special to me. I am so proud of the young man you have become.

Bennett's Field Day

Consideration for my Family

Do something for your family first. Tell them the good news first. Let them know that you value them and that they are special to you.

This is from my devotion reading this morning. At first when I read this I thought "oh - no problem, I am all about my family". But do I really take the time each day to make each one of them feel really special and let them know that they are valuable to me. Probably not. I spend a lot of my time doing things for my family but I need to spend more time doing things with my family and planning special times with each family member.

Horatio Spafford wrote this song in 1873 after he had suffered from many losses. He lost a fortune in real estate in the Chicago fire of 1871 and around the same time lost his only son (age 4) to scarlet fever. He decided to vacation to Europe (and to go visit D. L. Moody) with his wife and four daughters. He was detained in New York but decided to send his family on ahead. During the trip, their ship collided with another vessel and sank within two hours. He received a telegram from his wife saying, "Saved. Alone." He had lost all four of his daughters. On the trip to join his wife he said to himself, "It is well; the will of God be done." He later wrote this famous hymn.

An old Hymn

I am back and blogging like crazy. I have lots to catch up on.



Just to let you know that each week I am going to post a hymn on Wednesday. Here is the reason behind me doing so. One of the things I love about my church is that the music worship leader is awesome in singing the old hymns. One day in church I was thinking how special these hymns are to me because I sung them growing up in church. So for the last part of the school year and through the summer the girls and I have been learning the words and tunes to the old hymns. (We can use this as music appreciation in our school!! ) I wanted to share them with you also. I love the new worship songs as well but there is something in the old hymns and the stories about why they were written. Most of the information I have gotten about the hymn is from the book " Then Sings My Soul". I hope you enjoy the different hymn each week.

I wish......

I have a wish list today.

1. I wish, people did not have to deal with death of babies, children, parents, spouses, or anyone. I wish people did not have to die.
2. I wish, I could be blatantly honest when others start complaining about their physical problems. I'm talking about things like a sinus headache, a slight catch in the back, seasonal allergies. I'm tired of hearing about it. That's rude though. Their stuff seems petty to me, but then again those are real problems, and they are real to whomever is going through them.
3. I wish I could explain to people who complain to about their jobs, boss, co-workers, etc that they are so lucky to have a job at this point and they need to count their job, boss, co-workers, etc as a blessing.
4.I wish I was sitting on a beach right now and reading a good book or relaxing on a cruise ship.
5. I wish my girls never had to be sad or have people be mean to them.
6. I wish I was taking a long nap somewhere outside where it was cool.
7. I wish I could always be on top, never on bottom. But, if I never saw the bottom, would I recognize the top?
8. I wish I could give Taylor and Aubrey the world. They'll have to settle for all my love. So far, they seem to be happy with that.
9.I wish I could spend more time with people who are special to me. It seems like everyone is too busy to have time for fun and visiting.
10.I wish I could take my grandmother's pain away so that she wouldn't have to deal with that all the time. I wish she only had days of feeling great.
11. I wish I had gotten the girls ears pierced when they were babies so they did not have to decide for themselves now if they really want to have the pain of having pierced ears.
12. I wish I was eating at Cheeseburger in Paradise tonight for dinner. I wish I was having an Orange Julius tonight for dessert instead of trying to eat healthy and lose weight.
12. I wish I could express my gratitude and love to all the people who are special to me. Sometimes I wonder if they really know how special they are to me.
13.I wish I had more time in the day to finish my to-do list and then have time to just relax and feel like I was being lazy!!
14.I wish I had more of the fresh picked strawberries from earlier in the week when I went strawberry picking. They were delicious.
15.I wish my Jesus would come back today. Wouldn't that be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are just random thoughts I have going through my head at this point in time. Some important to me and some just silly. It is always good to wish...
