Give Me Your Eyes

A few weeks ago, I saw a feeble middle aged man with a sign saying that he had no home and needed money. A few days later, I saw a young mother with 3 young children waiting for a bus outside the grocery store. It was cold and the children barely had on any clothes and two of the kids were crying because they were hungry.

We all see people like this daily. We normally just glance at them, think about helping them out in some way and then look or drive away.

Well, one of the girls favorite songs on the radio right now is "Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath. I was listening to the words of the song the other day and God told me to see these people through His eyes. There are people all around me that are suffering that need help and I can do something to help them. I want to be someone that helps others, no matter what. I can always give, ask about what they need, pray with them, and share about Jesus. Isn't that what God would want of me?

Here are some of the words from the song:
"All those people going somewhere. Why have I never cared. Give me your eyes for just one second. Give me your eyes so I can see. Everything that I keep missing. Give me your love for humanity. Give me your arms for the broken hearted. The ones who are far beyond my reach. Give me your heart for the ones forgotten. Give me your eyes so I can see. Lord give me your eyes...

San Diego

Here are some pictures of my day in San Diego today. I found a Target. I did some shopping in some fun stores. I took a walk through some of the neighborhoods because it was such a beautiful day. At sunset, Jody and I went to the beach. You can tell from the pictures how beautiful this was. The flowers are in bloom in San Diego. I took some pictures of some of the flowers. There are also pictures of the car we are driving and the hotel that we are staying in.

I will post more pictures tomorrow. I hope everyone is having a great week.

See What I See...

How can I know and still do nothing?
After watching the video, I asked God what He wanted me to do?

Thankful Thursday

A thankful hought for Thursday...

Psalm 119:49-50 "Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope.
This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life."

What happiness for Christians to know all of God's promises to us. I have made a list of some of "my favorite" promises:

- The promise that Jesus will return for his bride. That this current world and it's troubles will fade away and we will forever be in His presence rejoicing and praising Him.

- John 14:1-3 "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

2 Samuel 2:22 "The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer.:

He promises to stand beside and protect and keep me safely in his loving arms as I go through my days.

Luke 1:37 "For nothing is impossible with God."

Psalm 3:3 "That He is the lifter of my head."

That His Word is truth. That if I keep my eyes on Him throughout this life, I will one day see Him.

Isaiah 49:16 "I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you in the palm of MY hands..."

And the old hymn...

Standing on the Promises of God

Standing on the promises of Christ my King
Through eternal ages let His praises ring
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing
Standing on the promises of God

Standing on the promises that cannot fail
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail
By the living Word of God I shall prevail
Standing on the promises of God

Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free
Standing on the promises of God

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword
Standing on the promises of God

Standing on the promises I cannot fall
Listening every moment to the Spirit’s call
Resting in my Savior as my all in all
Standing on the promises of God

Happy Birthday Angela

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to Angela,
Happy Birthday to you.

Today is my sister's birthday. Angela, I hope you have a great day. Sorry you have to go to work on your birthday! I personally think it should be some type of holiday! I hope you have the best day and all your wishes come true!

Week in Review

We had a beautiful week of snow and playing outside in the snow. We wish Jody had been home to enjoy the snow with us, he spent the week in Dallas, Texas with no snow.

On Saturday, Taylor and Aubrey had friends over to enjoy the afternoon playing at the house, playing outside, riding bikes, and going to the park. It was a beautiful day to be outside. On Sunday, we had a birthday party for my sister. It was a fun day with family. On Sunday evening during the worship service, Taylor's children's choir sung at church. They did a really good job. I love when any of the children groups sing.
Also in the Sunday evening service we got to hear all about the great things Mustard Seed International is doing for so many of the most needy people overseas. Take some time to check out their website and add them to your prayer list. Our church is planning a mission trip to one of their target areas, Kolkata, India on July 1-7. My heart was really broken last night as I watched the slide show and heard about these precious orphans. http://www.mustardseed.org

I hope everyone has a great week!

What are we doing?

Watching it snow. It is so pretty. Big and wet snowflakes are falling outside. Will there be enough to play in later today? We are hoping so. We will let you know.
