A few weeks ago, I saw a feeble middle aged man with a sign saying that he had no home and needed money. A few days later, I saw a young mother with 3 young children waiting for a bus outside the grocery store. It was cold and the children barely had on any clothes and two of the kids were crying because they were hungry.
We all see people like this daily. We normally just glance at them, think about helping them out in some way and then look or drive away.
Well, one of the girls favorite songs on the radio right now is "Give Me Your Eyes" by Brandon Heath. I was listening to the words of the song the other day and God told me to see these people through His eyes. There are people all around me that are suffering that need help and I can do something to help them. I want to be someone that helps others, no matter what. I can always give, ask about what they need, pray with them, and share about Jesus. Isn't that what God would want of me?
Here are some of the words from the song:
"All those people going somewhere. Why have I never cared. Give me your eyes for just one second. Give me your eyes so I can see. Everything that I keep missing. Give me your love for humanity. Give me your arms for the broken hearted. The ones who are far beyond my reach. Give me your heart for the ones forgotten. Give me your eyes so I can see. Lord give me your eyes...
