We spent Labor Day weekend just hanging around the house. Jody did some projects around the house while I supervised on Saturday. He was excited about this!!
On Sunday, we went to Jody's Aunt Winky and Uncle Ronnie's house for a dinner, swim, riding 4 wheelers and more!! We had a great time. The kids enjoyed playing and spending time together. Thanks Ronnie and Winky for a great time.
On Monday - Taylor, Aubrey and I spent some time at the pool enjoying some last days at the pool. Later we cheered the VOLS in their first game of the season. We are happy it is VOL time again in TENNESSEE!!
I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!

Feeling about the same...
After 2 different doctor's visits, a CT scan, blood work, 8 days of antibiotic, pain pills for one week, and Phenergan for the last part of the week, I am feeling ... about the same!!
I did find out the doctor wants me to have an XR this Friday and 2 scopes next Friday to get a look at what could be going on. So, that is the plan for now. I am not at all excited about this plan, remember I don't like medicine, needles, doctors, nurses, tests,... and this plan involves all of the above. Beginning yesterday, liquids have been okay on my stomach but food is still not a good thing (it has been 9 days since a meal has been part of my daily routine and that is not normal for me!!).
So, that is the plan for now. I will be trying to do some of the normal stuff that goes on in our life, I think I am needing an energy booster. I will update again soon.

Work Boy
Work boy stayed in town this week. So, I have put him to work around the house of course. He has been busy pressure washing the deck and driveway. Then he put waterseal on the deck and fixed some cracks in the driveway. He has been working hard but he has it finished and it looks so good. Thanks work boy!!
Fun Friday
We had a fun day today.
* We went to a small group event at a friend's house to play Wii and eat pizza. The girls had fun with other friends and I enjoyed the company of another mom as we planned the small group events for the upcoming year.
* We got to keep Wyatt and have baby fun today. Wyatt is a joy to have around and we have so much fun with him. You can just forget getting anything else done on days when Wyatt is around, we just play and enjoy baby time!!! (Happy 10 month old birthday today Wyatt).
* Aubrey is going to a friend's house for a sleepover tonight. She was so excited. She was up early by her choice (which is not typical of Aubrey!!) and could not wait for 3:00pm for Sydney to pick her up. I am sure they will have a great time and I can't wait to hear all about it.
* Taylor has a friend over and they have enjoyed listening to music, painting fingernails, playing with Wyatt, taking a walk, and just being together - we are glad you came over Katherine.
Still to come on Fun Friday...
* I am going to a Taste of Home party at a friend's house. It will be fun to think about new ways to decorate my home.
* Yard boy is mowing the yard
* Exciting Olympics to watch tonight. I am so into watching the Olympics this time. I am exhausted from watching it way to late but I have enjoyed the competition so far.
So, lots going on today. I hope everyone has a fun weekend.

Taylor and Morgan
Taylor had a friend over today. Morgan is a friend that Taylor met at school and they became good friends from the first day of school in Mrs. Haun's 2nd grade class. For 3rd grade, Morgan changed schools and moved to Seymour, this was so sad for Taylor. Her best friend was not at the same school anymore. She thought she would never see her again. Because they were such good friends, Morgan's mom and I have tried to work out sleepovers and times to get together. The girls got to see each other a few times a year for a while and spent birthdays together. Today I was thinking about it and watching them together and realized how they have developed a friendship that will probably last a lifetime. They may go for months without seeing each other and as soon as they see each other they hug and pick up where they left all the last time. You would never guess that they may have not seen each other for weeks or months if you were watching them. I also noticed that it is no longer up to me and Morgan's mom to keep them connected. Now that they are older and talk on the phone, etc. they make plans to see each other because they want to!! Taylor and Morgan have a special friendship and I am happy that Morgan and her family are in our lives.

Week in Review
Well you can tell around here that "summer" is about over. Lots of activities started back this week and lots going on. Taylor and Aubrey started dance classes this week. They will be dancing at a fair in September so they started learning dance routines right away. Taylor is cheering again this year for Cherokees Football Team of 7th grade boys. She had her first game of the year to cheer for on Saturday. They played against the Seymour Eagles. We also did some of our normal stuff of swimming and went to Splash Country on Friday. Jody spent the week working in Sarasota, Florida.
We had a good week and I will do better this week of taking pictures!! I hope everyone has a great week.

Thankful Thursday
My Thankful Thursday is about school because school is starting. I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to homeschool Taylor and Aubrey. We are beginning our second year of homeschooling and I am so excited to begin another year with them.
One of the joys of homeschooling for me is a deeper relationship with Taylor and Aubrey. We are together many more hours now than we were when they were in public school. This has given me more chances to realize how much I love them and how much I enjoy being with them.
After spending this week getting ready, I am happy to report that we are all stocked up and ready to start our school year!! Everything looks so pretty all arranged on the shelf with nothing out of place. I know it won't stay that way long, so I am enjoying it now!!
What are our plans for the school year you may wonder...I know we are going to attempt some sort of lapbook/notebook. I still have some planning on the subjects, I am hoping to do one per month. For August our study is the Olympics and China. We are learning to write Chinese words and numbers and learning about the Chinese culture this week.
Our church's children's choir groups will be centered around a country each month. I plan on expanding on that country each month in school. This will be interesting to learn about various countries around the world and it will tie in nicely with our Geography.
Of course we will study math, language arts, Bible, reading, science, and history. We will also continue our outside classes at the Zoo, piano, dance, and art. I am looking for sign language and foreign language classes.
One of my favorite things about homeschooling is planning what we learn about and planning different ways to learn. Taylor and Aubrey both learn differently. What works for one does not work at all for the other. The one subject one LOVES, the other can not stand to waste her time doing it!! I enjoy the challenge of finding the right way for each one to learn and to help them love to learn.
So, whether you are homeschooling your children or sending them to public or private school, I hope that we all take time to be thankful for our children and the opportunities we have each day to impact them and make memories that will last a life time. Two of my favorite Bible verses to help me with the challenges of homeschooling are "Commit your work to the Lord, and then it will succeed." Proverbs 16:3 and "In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success." Proverbs 3:6

Dancing Friends
Aubrey has a friend named Rebekah. They have a lot in common anyway but this year Rebekah is beginning dance lessons at the studio where we attend and they will have even more in common. Rebekah came to visit last night and the girls had a great time choreographing their own dances. Jody and I were treated to a "dance recital" last night complete with costumes, duets, solos, and great music. It was an awesome recital. I can wait to see what this dance year has in store for both of them.
Here are some pictures from the "dance recital" ...

Week in Review
Where has this week gone? We have not done anything productive this week, just had fun. Isn't that what summer is about? Taylor has had cheer leading camp this week. We spent lots of time at the pool with family and friends. We went to Splash Country on Friday. We had fun shopping tax free on Saturday. etc, etc. Next week seems to have a lot of the same things going on except that Jody will be spending his week in Florida.
Oh, I almost forgot... We got a Wii Fit FINALLY!! We have been looking for one since they came out several months ago. We had no luck until yesterday and found one at the awesome Walmart!! We have just had it one day and I am soooo sore today - not a good sign about what kind of shape I am in!! We have been having fun playing the games and competing amongst each other on the Wii Fit. I think we will be having an Olympics going on at our house for the next few weeks as everyone tries to beat the other person's record. It has been a lot of fun.
I hope everyone has a great week!
