I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
My soul will boast in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.
Psalm 34:1-3
Extol means to praise highly, to bless, to glorify, exalt or celebrate.
The Message version of the Bible records verse 1 this way: "I bless God every chance I get; my lungs expand with his praise."
I found an online commentary that made three points about what David is doing in this passage.
He is:
Resolving to praise God constantly (I will bless the Lord at all times)
Committing to praise God openly (his praise will always be on my lips)
Desiring to praise God heartily (my soul will boast in the Lord)
I have been listening to Beth Moore lately. This quote struck me because of what I read in Psalm 34:
"We are going to most believe what we most rehearse. There is power in the words coming out of our mouth. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. It is the bread of life. Lets change our complaints to praise."
Oh, how convicting these words are. I will most believe what comes out of my mouth most often. If I follow Psalm 34, what comes out of my mouth should be praises to God and glory to Him.
Do I bless God every chance I get?
Do my lungs expand with his praise?
Do I praise him constantly, heartily and openly?
There is power in our words. The Word of God is the bread of life and if we speak the Word, we are speaking life, truth, praises and blessings. We are bringing glory to God and growing our faith - all at the same time.
In this new year, may I cease striving more, and instead strive to praise, bless and bring glory to my God.

the Christmas Tree
One of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season, is to sit in the living room with all the lights off except for the lights on the Christmas tree. That's where I'm sitting now.
It's so....peaceful. I am just sitting here thinking and praying.
I just love our tree. It is very special to me. I love to just look at the ornaments and think about when we got each one and from whom and for what occasion.
In the spirit of Christmas, I encourage you to take time before you go to bed some night to shut off the lights, the television or whatever keeps your mind preoccupied, and just sit in the presence of the lit Christmas tree.
Pray. Sing. Read. Blog. Relax. Sleep. Journal. Cuddle with a loved one. Think.
Just enjoy the simplistic beauty of the Christmas tree. We have a star ornament on the tree and I love to let my eyes travel to the star and think about the wise men who saw the star in the East and followed it to Jesus.

Sanctus Real - "Lead Me"
Jody and I have been blessed with a great marriage. We have been married for 17+ years and been friends for more years. It has not been a marriage without conflict. We have had struggles and we have had disappointments in each other.
However, through all the years, Jody has been the rock in our marriage. He has guided our marriage. He has been the leader we needed in our home. For that, I feel blessed.
I know not all marriages are like this. I hear too many times of marriage ending in divorce or marriages where the couple does not seem like they like each other at all. I pray for people who are in marriages like this. I pray that you will seek Christan counseling and find help to resolve any conflict that may be between you and your spouse.
Listen to the story behind the song "Lead Me" in this post. I will post the song video in the next post.

"Putting God Back in the Holidays"
I just received "Putting God Back In The Holidays" by Bill and Penny Thrasher (Bill is a Professor at Moody Bible Institute)in the mail! I am so excited to start reading it. The author challenges us to rest in the midst of the busyness that comes with holidays.
This book covers all the holidays, from New Years to Easter to Mother's Day and Labor Day, and it is filled with practical and spiritual ideas to make each holiday special.
Thrasher says this is how we will know if we had a "successful" Christmas : "If you have a better relationship with the Lord at the end of the holiday celebrations, you have had a very successful holiday."
With our to-do list for the holidays, I find it extremely difficult to have quiet time with the Lord. How can my relationship with God be better at the end of the holidays?
Feeling closer to God at the end of the holidays is a challenge for me. This will be my December challenge. I will share with you more about what I learn in the book during the month of December.

All Things New
I really enjoy listening to music. One of my favorite singers is Nicole Sponberg. She has recently released a new album and I can't wait to get it on my nano so I can listen to it all the time!!
Here are some words from one of the songs that I really like "All Things New":
So we watch and we wait and we hope and we pray
You will come and make all things new
And we won't be afraid as we long for the day
You will come and make all things new
The bridge carries this promise:
Our struggles here cannot compare to what we have to gain
All things new. No more pain, no more death. The chorus is a reference to Revelation 21, which talks about the Lord returning to rule on the earth.

Give Me Patience
I have been praying a lot lately for patience. I need to remember that everything that touches my life is sifted through the hands of my loving God. I must understand that He is complete control and when I have to wait, it is just for God to say "now" and what I am praying about can be taken care of. I just need to learn to wait on God!!
Psalm 40:1-3:
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the Lord.

My Great Fall Cleanup
Like everyone, I’m on a mission to to declutter our whole house. I am starting today!! I am in the process of decluttering every closet, drawer, shelf, every space in my house!!
You all know how much I love STUFF. I just don’t want the stuff we don’t need, use or treasure to weigh down our lives.
So…I came up with a plan. I want to tackle the problem areas of our home that are kind of bigger than life.
One area is the garage. It has not really been decluttered since we moved in, but I have a plan to change this!!I am not sure how we accumulated so much stuff??? CRAZY
And also on my plan is -- our master closet. It is bad. It is life threatening to even go into the closet. No joke!!!
Another area is my kitchen cabinets, can't even talk about them.
I only have given myself about one month to complete these tasks. But I am determined to get our WHOLE house under control before the holidays hit. And this time, they will stay that way – I have absolutely no doubt in my mind.
And just so you don’t think I’ve completely lost my organizing style, my kitchen pantry is good and my laundry room is organized : )
I will be sure and take before/after pictures so that you can see the changes and improvements :)
It amaze me how a decluttered space seems to make my life go smoother. I love it.
So that’s my plan for the Great Fall Clean Up at the King house.
Is there a space that is putting you over the edge? Join me in my Great Fall Cleanup!!

The Power of the Cross
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Some of my favorite words in the song is:
Now the daylight flees, now the ground beneath
quakes as its Maker bows His head.
Curtain torn in two, dead are raised to life.
"Finished!" the vict'ry cry.
Oh to see my name written in the wounds,
for through Your suff'ring I am free.
Death is crushed to death, life is mine to live
won through Your selfless love!
This, the power of the cross;
Son of God - slain for us.
What a love! What a cost!
We stand forgiven at the cross.
Praise God for sending His son to die for my sins that I may obtain everlasting life.

Hollywood, CA
While visiting Jody last week in San Diego, we went to Hollywood, CA one day. It was lots of fun and we got to see and do lots.
We left San Diego early Saturday morning for the almost 2 hour drive to Hollywood, CA. As you can see the girls enjoyed the ride, they were still a little tired from their busy week.
We got to see the stars that are along the street. This was cool to find our favorite stars. We went on a sightseeing tour of Hollywood. We got to see where Michael Jackson had gone to elementary school, lots of mansions of the stars, several places where movies had been filmed (one of mine and the girls favorite was the garden/outside area of the movie "Princess Diaries 2", the LA Ink store where the show takes place, shops, and lots more. The only thing we did not see was the HOLLYWOOD sign on the hill. The day we went was cloudy and you could not see the sign - this had not happened for 2 years and had to happen the one day we were there - oh well.
We had lunch at Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood. The food was yummy and the atmosphere was great. However, we did not run into stars while we were eating -well none that we recognized :)
We visited the wax museum that had bunches of stars. They look so real!!
We also toured the Kodak building. This is where the Academy Awards are presented each year. We walked the trail that the stars walk to receive their award. Our tour guide did a great job, he really knew lots about the special night. We sat in the auditorium and we walked across the stage to accept our award! I am so glad that we got to do this tour. It will be so cool to watch the awards ceremony this year and see what it is like that night compared to what it was when we saw it.
We had a great time in Hollywood, CA. I am so happy we got to do this day trip!! It did take us more hours to get back to San Diego than it did to get to Hollywood - thanks to LOTS of traffic and rain :(

Bonfire
Last Tuesday night we had a bonfire at Papaw and Nana's house. We had a fire that Aubrey spent a lot of time "playing" in and keeping stick in it. We had hotdogs and chili for dinner and then had smores for dessert. It was great spending time with family and enjoying the Fall evening :)
Picture Day
Thursday of this past week was picture day for the co-op that we attend (it was actually make-up day for pictures). Pictures for the yearbook were taken and also Fall pictures. It was such a beautiful day and the location was wonderful for a fall day. Thank you Mrs. Donna for taking the girls pictures - I can't wait to see them :) I took some pictures after we finished with our official pictures of the girls and where we were.
Pumpkin Patch
Yesterday we went to a pumpkin patch. We had a great time. We rode a hayride to the pumpkin patch, picked our pumpkins after walking all around the pumpkin patch!! Taylor had a fried Oreo that she said was delicious and Aubrey had a UT Orange Slushy (we were hoping to help the VOLS to a victory). Aubrey and her cousin Kaleigh went through a monkey corn maze :) The weather was beautiful and it was great to spend time with family.
Happy Fall
Sorry I have not posted any pictures in awhile. I going to try and catch up some tonight :)
First, I wanted to show you this pictures of Aubrey raking leaves.
No, this was not punishment - she likes to rake leaves. Don't ask me where this comes from, I have no idea (most be her Dad because he usually rakes the leaves). Anyway, we got home from church tonight and she asked if she go outside and rakes leaves!! She was so excited when I said yes and look at the smile on her face :) Of course Maggie had to help her!!

No Fear/No Worry
"I will have no fear of bad news. MY heart is steadfast TRUSTING the Lord." Psalm 112:7
This was my devotional theme yesterday from "Jesus Calling". For the last few weeks, I have not had a good night sleep because of worry and fear. I wake up and have all kinds of things going on in my mind. During the day, I just start thinking about things and worrying and having fear :(
I pray that if you are in a place of worry like I have been, to cast those over to the Lord. I am tying to do this. When those doubts and fears come in, replace them with what God's word says. This is something I need to do on a daily basis, hourly in fact.
Remember that fear is never from the Lord. Satan will put those fears in your mind. If he can get you to believe them, then you will begin to act them out and he will have you in a place where you are in bondage to those fears. When you are in bondage to them, you can't fully see what the Lord has for you and the goodness and peace he can bring to you.

Ruin my life the plans I have made
Ruin desires for my own selfish gain
Destroy the idols that have taken Your place
'Till its You alone I live for,
You alone I live for.
I pray God ruins the plans I have made this week and replaces them with nothing but a desire to live for Him! :-)

'Till its You alone I live for,
You alone I live for.
I pray God ruins the plans I have made this week and replaces them with nothing but a desire to live for Him! :-)

Happy Birthday Aubrey!!
My sweet baby girl -
Today (September 6th) - you will be eleven years old at 9:38 p.m. I will never forget the night you were born. I had been in the hospital for awhile waiting for you to grow. I had laid at the hospital and thought about what you would be like, who would you act like, who would you look like, would you be just like Taylor or nothing like Taylor, etc.
When the doctor decided you needed to be born on the morning of September 6th, I had many mixed emotions. I was scared of what your health would be like because you were 8 weeks premature. To be honest, for me this day and a few days afterwards was the absolute worst time of my life. Not because of you. But because instead of you being born and me taking lots of pictures and holding you on my chest and watching you sleep in my room - you came out tiny and not breathing well. Instead of swaddling you and holding you - they were wheeling you in in a tiny incubator to the hospital across the street. Instead of me and daddy and the rest of your family having a great time in the hospital room that night and celebrating your birth - they were following you in the incubator to the NICU. I was left all alone so sad that you had been born early.
But we were so blessed and you got better. Your time in the NICU was a hard and scary time but it was also a wonderful time. It was a time when we saw God in the flesh. You were prayed for by many people. We witnessed the kindness of strangers first hand. Our friends, family, and church members came to see us and prayed for us.
So today we are going to celebrate your life. You have brought us so much joy I can't even begin to share half of it. I thank Jesus every single day for allowing me to be your mom and for blessing me with you. From the beginning of your life, you have been my "Masterpiece" from God. I am so blessed to spend the rest of my life loving you!

Panama City Beach
We went to Panama City Beach for a vacation (well Jody had to work but the rest of us were on vacation). We left Knoxville on Friday, August 13th and came back on Friday, August 20th. We had a great time, other than Jody who got sick for most of the week :( Nana and Papaw went with us!! We had a great time relaxing at the pool and in the sand, eating out, finding Dairy Queen and Dunkin Donuts. It was great to spend the week away with Nana and Papaw.
I had only been to Panama City once in my life and I was in college when I went before. It is a fun place and the beach area was nice. I am looking forward to going again sometime.

Britton Fun
On Thursday, we kept Britton for a couple of hours. We love spending time with Britton. He is so cute, funny and we just love having him to play with!! While he was here, we took a walk in the stroller - he loves to be outside, played in the yard with a ball, got lots of kisses from us girls, played with Maggie, etc. He started walking real good while we are the beach. This was the first time he had been at the house when he could walk so well. Maggie had a fun time with Britton walking. She would chase him and then he would turn around to "get her" and she would take off running. Britton thought this was so funny :) Of course we took pictures of our time with Britton. I hope you enjoy!!
Birthday Party
On Saturday, Aubrey had friends over to Nana's house to swim. It was a lot of fun with the girls and Aubrey had a great time. It is time to begin birthday celebrations for Aubrey's 11th birthday!! I did not do well taking pictures, I got too busy people talking to moms and forgot about taking pictures :( - for no pictures and :) for getting to talk to other moms!!
I hope you enjoy what pictures I did get!! Thanks Nana and Papaw for letting Aubrey have her friends over to swim at the pool, it is her favorite birthday place :)(and for all your help to me before, during and after the party)

Dixie Stampede
While camping, Aubrey requested that we go to the Dixie Stampede. This is one of her favorite places to go. She loves the soup at dinner and loves the show and horses. So, we went to the Dixie Stampede one night for dinner. The meal was delicious, the show was entertaining, and the South Won!! We had a great time :)
We went camping in Pigeon Forge for a couple of days. It was lots of fun and really hot!! We had a great time. One morning we got up and went to Pancake Pantry in Gatlinburg for breakfast. I think it is one of my most favorite breakfast places.
We missed Taylor who went to a church camp for the week, so we enjoyed spoiling Aubrey and I don't think she minded too much :)

Hold On To Jesus
In the last few weeks, while preparing for the new school year, I have been really thinking about what I want for my girls and praying each day that I could prepare on how to teach them what I think is important. I have been looking for a verse that would represent my prayers, desires and dreams for Taylor and Aubrey. I chose Deuteronomy 30:20 "...that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him."
My prayer for Taylor and Aubrey is that they both would LOVE God with all their heart, would LISTEN to his voice above all other voices and HOLD FAST to the Lord no matter what they face in life.
This song, Hold On To Jesus by Erin O'Donnell (click on the link below and you can hear the song, the video is not ours, it is all I could find with the song) is perfect in sharing what I want for them. The words of this song are the perfect prayer for any parent. As a mom, there is nothing more I desire to teach my children than to hold on tight to Jesus:
You're a little piece of heaven
You're a golden ray of light
and I wish I could protect you
from the worries of this life
but if there's one thing I could tell you
it's no matter what you do
hold to Jesus, He’s holding onto you
The world will try to tell you
that might is more than right
and beauty's on the outside
and being good is a losing fight
but remember what I've told you
'cause the world will make you choose
hold to Jesus, He’s holding on to you
Hold on to Jesus, and cling to his love
rest deep in his mercy
whenever things get rough
don't lose sight of his goodness
and don't ever doubt this truth
that when you hold on to Jesus
He's holding on to you.
Hear me dear Jesus
rock this little one to sleep
keep her close when she's scared
and give her grace when she is weak
I know she'll stumble, but I know she'll make it through
if you hold on to her just like you said you'd do
hold her Jesus and she'll hold on tight to you

What Joy (Psalm 146)
This morning during my devotion time, the song What Joy was referred to. I had not heard the song in awhile so I looked it up on You Tube.
I needed to hear this song because I needed to be reminded of where my peace and joy come from. My joy comes from having hope in the name of the Lord. My peace comes from having confidence in God and God alone.
And I need to be reminded of that. Over and over and over again.
As I was looking online for the lyrics to this song, I read a description that I couldn't agree with more. It said, "This song is so simple, yet so amazing." The words are powerful and filled with truth.
Here's the video. The lyrics are below.
What Joy (Psalm 146) Written by: Sarah Emerson
You made the heavens and the earth,
the sea and all that is in them
Your promises remain
You give justice to the weak,
You care for the widow and orphan
Forever Lord, You reign
What joy, what joy for those whose hope
is in the name of the Lord
What peace, what peace
for those whose confidence is Him alone
You make the blinded eye to see,
and cherish those who seek Your face
Your faithful love endures
You came to let the slave go free,
You cause the sinner to sing praise
In You we are secure

my prayer for today
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Made me Glad
This is such a song of hope and joy.
I will bless the Lord forever
I will trust Him at all times
He has delivered me from all fear
He has set my feet upon a rock
I will not be moved
And I'll say of the Lord
You are my shield, my strength
My portion, deliverer
My shelter, strong tower
My very present help in time of need
Whom have I in heaven but You
There's none I desire beside You
You have made me glad
And I'll say of the Lord
You are my shield, my strength

How Great Is Our God
This morning is beautiful in East Tennessee. The weather is wonderful for July 2nd, the skies have been the most beautiful blue for the last couple of days and very few clouds in the sky. It reminds me of how great our God is. No matter when I need to be reminded there are some wonderful reminders everyday in my life that remind me that "Name above all names, Worthy of all praise, My heart will sing, how great is our God..."
Here are the lyrics to How Great is Our God:
The splendor of a King,
clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice,
all the earth rejoice
He wraps himself in light,
and darkness tries to hide
it trembles at his voice,
trembles at his voice
How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great
How great is our God
And age to age He stands
and time is in His Hands
Beginning and the End,
Beginning and the End
The Godhead, three in one
Father, Spirit, Son
the Lion and the Lamb,
the Lion and the Lamb
How great is our God,
sing with me
How great is our God,
and all will see
How great,
How great is our God
Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
how great is our God
Name above all names
you are worthy of all praise
and my heart will sing
how great is our God

Maggie
Here are a few pictures of Maggie. She had a birthday on June 11th and was one year old.
Maggie does not like it when there are storms outside. She gets really scared. She usually hides under the kitchen table. On Monday night this week, we had a storm and the girls made Maggie this tent where she could hide. She loved the tent and was happy when the storm was over!!
Also, there is a picture that Aubrey drew as a celebration for the Fourth of July!!

Last Friday and Saturday, we took a trip to Atlanta. We went to the outlet mall in North Atlanta and a trip to the American Girl Store.
Aubrey participated in a hair class for her doll on Friday night. She was able to do 2 different hair styles for her doll. She had a lot of fun at the class. She got an awesome goody bag for going to the class. We also had dinner at the Bistro Cafe at the American Girl Store. It was yummy!
We had a fun trip and found lots of things shopping at the outlets. Nana went with me and the girls and it was a fun girl trip!!

this week
This is Vacation Bible School week. Taylor is going to Stock Creek to be a volunteer in VBS. She is helping in music and really enjoyed it today. She loves working with Mrs. Sarah and this year Hannah is also helping.
Aubrey is going to VBX at Sevier Heights. This is Bible School for 5th and 6th graders. She enjoyed it today. From what I understand they had a skit with a live pig, played kickball, had refreshments, talked about creation, had a snack and sang songs. This is all she wanted to share this afternoon, she had a great time!!
After Vacation Bible School this week, the girls are spending time with grandmothers and cousin Kaleigh. Today, we met for lunch after VBS, went to the mall to jump on the trampoline and paint pottery.
I hope you all have a great week.
sweet girls
On Sunday night, we got to keep two of the sweetest girls after church. K and K remind me of when my girls use to be little. They are so sweet and we all (including Maggie) really enjoyed spending time with them. David and Sarah we are available anytime to play : )

Memorial Day Weekend
We went camping for Memorial Day Weekend. I left my camera at home :(
We had a great time. Nana and Papaw went camping and stayed next to us. Angela, Benji, and Bennett camped with Nana and Papaw.
The girls tie-dyed tshirts, did some rock climbing, went on a hay ride around the campground, had a scavenger hunt at the campground, watched "Toothfairy" on an outdoor movie screen, played Bingo, rode bikes, ate ice cream, went rafting, swimming, etc... It was a busy weekend!!
Bill, Tracy, Kaleigh, and Gabriella camped close by at another campground. Bill and Kaleigh visited on Saturday. Kaleigh spent the night and we had lots of fun!!
We came home a day early because it had rained every day while we were camping. We decided we had enough of the rain camping : ) So, we came home, unpacked, started laundry, and started drying out the camper. Then we enjoyed a nice Memorial Day dinner at Wasabi and then had ice cream at Marble Slab - Yummy!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I loved seeing all the flags honoring those who fight for our country. Thank you to the women and men willing to give their lives for freedom.

Worthy of Our Praise
This morning I heard "Hallelujah". Whenever I hear it, everything in me wants to drop to my knees in worship or jump to my feet and raise my hands high.
Here are the lyrics:
Hallelujah, hallelujah
You are worthy, of our praise (repeat)
Be high and lifted up
Be high and lifted up
Be high and lifted up, Jesus
It's You we glorify
It's You we're lifting high
Your name be glorified
As I listen - if I truly let the words sink in and wash over me - they are cleansing to my soul. The words wash out the selfishness in me. The anger. The fear. The sadness. The anxiety. The critical spirit. The self-centeredness. The doubt. The despair. Because these words are not about me. They're all about Him. And sometimes I need to be reminded that life is not about me.
These words make me want to cry or scream or shout or weep or cheer. I want God's name to be glorified. I want to lift Him high....simply because He is worthy of our praise.
Take a few minutes and turn the music up. Forget everything around you and either get on your knees or jump to your feet.

Women Are Special
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
-Psalm 139:14 (NIV)
God made women special. We are the help meet. We strive to be the Proverbs 31 woman and all that entails.
We are chauffeurs, cooks, nose wipers, homework helpers, teachers, maids, schedulers and executioners of life.
We are women, mothers, sisters, wives, lovers, daughters, friends.
From the time we wake in the morning we’re on a mission. Everything we do is for everyone else.
We wake our household, make sure their bellies are full. Ensure the children are educated. Clean. Delegate household duties. We run errands, schedule appointments for more errands to be ran. We plan meals, vacations, we plan our lives.
All the while loving our family wholeheartedly.
As the day progresses, we continually do for others. Never taking into account the reasoning. We do it from our hearts. We do it because we love. We’re nurturers. We go to bed after everyone else, planning the next day – week – month. From sun up to sun down, we’re constantly doing for everyone else. This is what we were made for.
It’s tiring. It sometimes feels like no one notices everything we do. We feel forgotten, looked over, taken for granted.

I remembered this poem that I’d once read a while ago.
Tears of a Woman
“Mom, why are you crying?” he asked his mom.
“Because I’m a woman” she told him.
“I don’t understand,” he said.
His mom just hugged him and said, “and you never will.” Later the little boy asked his father, “Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?”
“All women cry for no reason” was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to GOD. When GOD got on the phone the man said, “GOD, why do women cry so easily?”
GOD said:
“When I made women she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world; yet, gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly. This same sensitivity helps her to make a child’s boo-boo feel better and shares in her teenagers anxieties and fears.
I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.
I gave her a tear to shed, it’s hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed. It’s her only weakness; it’s a tear for mankind.”

baton twirling
On Monday, we had a fun day with the Cormack girls. The girls did lots of things - jumped on trampoline, went to Bennett's baseball game (which he won!!), flashlight tag, had pizza for dinner, etc... The girls also did a baton twirling competition for us and it was awesome. I think they might want to start back in baton twirling next year!! Sorry the pictures were so dark, it was getting dark outside.

This past weekend was lots of fun!! We had friends stay with us for the weekend while their mom and dad were out of town. All the girls had a great time together Friday and Saturday.
On Friday afternoon Aubrey had practice at church for the children's choir musical that was last night. Then after practice, we went to the Dogwood Arts parade in downtown Knoxville.

Neighborhood Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Each year the neighborhood that we live in has an Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday morning before Easter for all the children. Aubrey had a great time at the egg hunt this year.
Another birthday party
Taylor had another birthday party where she invited friends to go roller skating. It was Easter weekend so several friends were out of town.

Disneyland
While visiting San Diego, we drove to Disneyland and spent the day. We volunteered at Keep Blount Beautiful to get our tickets. The volunteer experience was great. The people at Keep Blount Beautiful were so helpful in getting us signed up, getting a time and our supplies for us to volunteer, and made it a great experience.
We love everything Disney and Disneyland was no exception. We did not expect to like Disneyland as much as do Disneyworld (don't ask me why?!) but we loved Disneyland. We can't wait to go back and visit again!!

Our visit to San Diego
I have not had a chance to post pictures in awhile.
A couple of weeks ago the girls and I went to San Diego, CA while Jody was working an extended time there. We spent 10 days in San Diego, CA and we had so much fun. We went on tours, went to Disneyland, went to the beach, went shopping, and did lots of other things. In the next few posts, I will share some pictures of our time in San Diego, CA.

Visiting the Hotel Coronado and Glider Port
One day we drove across a huge bridge from downtown San Diego and went over to see the Hotel Coronado. A few of the pictures are on the bridge as were driving over!! It was very windy this day and it was very windy on top of the bridge in the car. Aubrey would closed her eyes and put her head down going over, she did better going back to San Diego!!
We also visited the Glider port in San Diego this day. There were people out gliding over the ocean. Really neat to watch. We were not brave enough to try gliding this time, but I think one or more of us will in the future (hint: I will not be Jody)!!

Eating Japanese
We love to eat Japanese food and no matter where we are, we try to find a good Japanese. Jody had found out about Benihana several years ago and he took me there when I had visited San Diego with him before. We were excited to take the girls. They thought it was delicious (but still love Wasabi the best!!)
Tour of San Diego
One day while in San Diego, the girls and I went on a tour of the city of San Diego. This was a fun tour because you toured on the streets of San Diego from this bus and then it went into the water and you toured the bay of San Diego. It was really neat and we learned a lot of cool things about San Diego.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
There is a song "Be Thou My Vision". It is a beautiful ancient Celtic Hymn. The song is beautiful both in music and in word. This is the history of this song.
The tune name is called 'Slane,' after the Hill of Slane in County Meath, Ireland. When Patrick first came to Ireland to spread Christianity, he was forbidden by pagan royal decree from lighting any fires at the Spring Equinox. Patrick defied the Royal Edict, and lit the first Paschal Fire in Ireland from atop the Hill of Slane. It's so tall (about 500 feet, or 160 metres) that the fire couldn't be missed. The pagan king at Tara was so impressed with Patrick's devotion that he gave him leave to begin proselyting. The rest, as they say, is history.(not my wording I swiped from a forum because I liked the way it was written)
High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heav'ns Son!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O ruler of all.
